Tonbridge Lions Club held a Community Fete and Fun Dog Show at Tonbridge Castle on Sunday June 11th. 

On one of the hottest days of the year the fete commenced at midday on the castle lawn with  the crowds being entertained by the 17th Tonbridge Scout & Guide Band followed by a variety of entertainment throughout the afternoon including the Pauline Quirk Dance Company, The Tonbridge Rock Choir, family entertainer Niki Naki Noo and vocalist Ian Fox . The crowds also enjoyed a variety of stalls from usual tombola’s and other sideshows including the coconut shy and Soak your Dad in the stocks, a Children’s Magician and lots of activities for children in Kiddies Corner. There were also stalls selling cakes, books and toys and the Lions inimitable cream teas.. 

The Fun Dog show was held in the Castle Walk area which proved to be very popular. The crowds gathered to watch the dogs compete in various classes including Child’s Best Friend and the Dog the judge would like to take home  

Miles Harvey Chairman of the Organising Committee said “We are very pleased with the way the day went. Although the weather was hot we had very positive feedback from the local community”.

All proceeds from the Fete will benefit local charities and good causes.
