Cranleigh & District Lions Club Golden Charter On behalf of our presidents Lion Trevor Dale, 2022-24, & incoming Rod Weale, 2024-25, the Lions of Cranleigh & District invite you to help us to celebrate our 50th Annual Charter Anniversary. By popular request this prestigious event will once again be held at the Cranleigh Golf & Country Club, formerly known as the Fernfell Golf Club, Barhatch Lane, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 7NG, but this will be a special event, our Golden Gala. The evening will start with drinks at the bar from 6.15pm with dinner at a Lionistic 7.00pm ish, or at seven o’clock, whichever is the earlier. There will be a sumptuous 2 or 3 course meal plus tea or coffee & mints or chocolates, followed by or intermingled with amusing anecdotes and interesting short speeches. The good news is that speeches will be short. More good news is there will be dancing to the well-loved band, The Fabulous Nobodies, who are appreciated across the county & Southern England, to follow. Further good news is that DG Paul Dedman is able to attend & will respond to the Lions Toast. There will be other surprises & treats. We had hoped to keep the costs below £50, well, all this will be provided in exchange for £55.00 per person for a 3-course meal or for those with smaller appetites £48.00 for 2 courses. Thanks to great negotiation skill we have got a good deal with a choice of food. We know that traditionally we collect more money on the night than we do in advance & this will be acceptable, but we would much prefer that you pay with your order, PLEASE. Evening dresses & dinner suits with black or GOLD ties are optional, a lounge suit or a pretty frock will be a very acceptable alternative, but not necessarily worn by the men.
