Thanet Lions Club (CIO) is a member of Lions Clubs International, the largest community voluntary service organisation in the world, registered in England with charity number 1172641. Thanet Lions has members who volunteer their time to help people in need with a focus on our local community covering Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the surrounding villages as well as responding to national and international disasters.

Our club started in 1968 and since then has provided many service projects across our community including sight awareness, Message in a Bottle, annually giving Christmas hampers to those in need, donating defibrillators and throughout the pandemic and beyond we are providing marshalling support to the COVID vaccination centres and GP surgeries.

Lions are having fun by organising remarkable and memorable fundraising events to pay for our community service activities– with every penny raised going direct to good causes and all our Lions Clubs administrative costs are covered by a small monthly subscription paid by individual members.
