On Sunday 21st May as part of Dementia Awareness Week Tonbridge Cottage Hospital hosted a Garden Party in the grounds of the Hospital.

Light refreshments were provided during the afternoon and those who attended were entertained by the Musical Memories Choir who performed a medley of songs ranging from Somewhere over the Rainbow, Any Dream will Do to Some Enchanted Evening, ending with a moving rendition of I am a Small Part of the World.

The Musical Memories Choir of Tonbridge is for people with or without memory issues and is organised by the Tonbridge Lions Club in conjunction with the Tonbridge Dementia Friendly Community.  Lion President Richard Hill with his wife Julie formed the Choir a few years ago and it now meets twice a month at the Tonbridge Methodist Church for a sing-along with those in the community who suffer memory issues;  and their partners and carers.
