In early December, Lion Ellenor was contacted by ‘The Peter Gidney Neurological Centre’ to ask for help.

The neurological unit looks after young patients with brain injuries and severe neurological problems. Many of the residents have TVs and digital assistants (e.g. Amazon Echo’s) bought for them by family members, but 10 of the residents don’t have family or ever receive visitors.

It was quickly agreed by the club to get 10 TVs and 10 Amazon Echos to be delivered before Christmas to allow these patients to listen to music and see the colours on the TV.

By the 22nd December, these devices had been delivered and installed for the residents, with many crying with gratitude. It really is the least we can do as humans!

We are hoping to follow up this donation with visits to the unit to visit some of these residents who never get visitors.
