SE Lions were given the opportunity to raise funds for Air Ambulance at the Bluebell Walk Arlington. The weather was good and the bluebells and wood anemones had burst into bloom to make a splendid showing. People responded to this spring opportunity in large numbers and we had the pleasure of serving over 4000 people over the two days.

Lions from Bexhill, East Grinstead, Hailsham, Hastings, SEBI and Uckfield Clubs together with several volunteers from the Air Ambulance managed the walk. Led by our chefs Graham and Anita Baldwin the café served, amongst other items over 500 slices of cake and 130 jacket potatoes. As a result we were able to make a profit of £8545 and this money will be sent to Air Ambulance for the purchase of new medical kitbags. These kitbags contain haemorrhage control and airways bags and are taken to every accident scene and are carefully organised to be used within 90 seconds of arrival so we hope that Lions will be able to assist the Air Ambulance in their vital work.
