Rumble in the Jungle

Fifteen young carers from Bourne Community College Southbourne were treated in late December2023 to a magnificent performance of Jungle Book by the Chichester Festival Youth Theatre. There was a huge cast of characters from a slithering snake, laughing jackal, gossiping porcupine to a strutting peacock all in fabulous costumes and acting the animals true to their costumes. The young carers thoroughly enjoyed the performance and were also treated to a cream tea afterwards in the theatre café.​

One of the cast who played Bagheera, the serious panther, was an ex-pupil of Bourne Community College and to the delight of the young carers came to talk to them after the show. All in all, an apt end to a wonderful afternoon for this group of very worthy but disadvantaged young people, made possible by the generous donations to Southbourne Lions from our local community.​
