Hastings Lions Club have made three more successful deliveries recently of Message in a Bottle to local service providers. 100 bottles were delivered to the Arthur Blackman Clinic and a further 100 delivered to the High Glades Medical Practise. 75 bottles were delivered to Mount Pleasant Court sheltered housing where all 60 residents were given a bottle for their own personal use and a further 15 and a display box were put into the main reception area.

Michelle at High Glades said’ the Message in a Bottle is so valuable and successful at High Glades, especially when our Advanced Practitioners go out to see elderly or very vulnerable patients as their relatives find them very helpful- we are always asking The Lions for more!’

Lisa at Mount Pleasant Court said ‘ these are such a great idea and we have obtained them before many years ago and realise what a great benefit they are so I am really pleased to be able to offer a bottle to each of our current residents’

Message in a Bottle Co-ordinator Lion Hayley Luck explained  ‘ during COVID we were unable to provide the bottles due to so many restrictions and so we have worked very hard since them to get them back into circulation and into our local community. Our vulnerability has been highlighted so much since the pandemic and those with medical conditions and additional needs need to feel safe. Also friends and relatives of the elderly and medically vulnerable really appreciate the benefit, security and reassurance that the Message in a Bottle provides’

Between 2020-2023 Hastings Lions Club have provided 2026 Message in a Bottles to local organisations and individuals.
