Dover in the community Christmas Float Collection Dover Lions recently invited the local youth groups who volunteered their help with our Christmas Float collections to meet up for a social evening, where they were thanked for their magnificent efforts, and donations of £1080.00 in total were presented to their respective groups for their club funds. Lovely evening! COSTA Coffee Shop Dover Lions were recently offered the opportunity to spend a day in one of our local Costa Coffee shops to raise awareness and chat to the public. We have tried Awareness Evenings In the past, but it doesn’t work, because nobody comes! So, we thought we would give it a try. We had a supply of Message Bottles with us, as well as PR literature which gave us the opportunity to talk about what we do and how we spend the money. While there we also collected a modest amount in donations. Not the huge amount we raise with our supermarket collections but it’s a small coffee shop…..and every penny counts!
