Dartford Lions Club President, Lion Avtar Sandhu MBE, was pleased to induct another two members to the club in August.

Having both been supporting the club through their time and resources for many years, both Lions James Ansell and Paul Hovell, have decided to join this dedicated hardworking team of volunteers who provide so much support for the local community.

Lion James, was previously a lions club member many years ago, however, due to commitments outside of lionism he decided to resign before rejoining this month. Having said that, knick named as ‘Fireman Jim’, James has helped with the clubs biggest fundraiser (bonfire night) for many years.

Lion Paul, has also been supporting the bonfire night for the same amount of time. However, in addition to this he is also very supportive on financial matters, working alongside the clubs treasurer, Paul brings with him many years of financial support and knowledge.

This clearly goes to show that both James and Paul are dedicated lions who both have the welfare of the local community at heart.

Lion president Avtar Sandhu MBE said “James and Paul have been supporting the club for so long, it almost feels like they have been members for many years. As our club moves forward with fresh ideas, systems and members, Lions James and Paul will most definitely bring in their own personal touches to the development of the club”.
