DG Paul invites you to YOUR Convention – which is being held over the weekend of 16th to 18th February in the heart of the South Downs National Park at The Avisford Park Hotel - very close to the historic town of Arundel.

This is another excellent “all under one-roof” venue – with a range of leisure  facilities and accommodation.

Convention itself will be held on the Saturday, and we are delighted that Lions International Director An Anthony Paradiso from New York will be joining us.

We also look forward to extending a warm 105SE welcome to Lions from other countries - including our friends from our twinned districts of France and Germany.

DG Paul is working on a full and interesting programme for the day – so do please come and learn more of our District and Worldwide Lionism – plus enjoy ‘down-time’ with your Lion friends from this and other countries.

For that ‘down-time’ your Convention committee has put together a programme of social events for everyone to enjoy whilst we are spending this weekend together.

Tom has an extensive repertoire and sings a variety of material from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Michael Bublé, Nat King Cole, Jamie Cullum, George Benson, Stevie Wonder and many more. We are in for a great night!

On the Saturday, whilst Lions are in Convention, our partners can choose to visit Arundel or take a trip to Chichester which will include a guided tour of the Cathedral.

After Convention closes there will be a glittering Banquet & Ball – a dinner followed by dancing to our good friends ‘The Revivals’ – back with us again!

There are many attractions and places to visit in the area such as Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower, the Mary Rose, the Weald and Downland Living Museum and Fishbourne Roman Palace.

So why not take a short-break before or after Convention ?

Our District Booking System will be available shortly to book the Cabinet lunch, social events, convention day lunch, pin sales and the partners’ outing.

A link will be circulated when this is open for business.

In view of cheque and cash handling difficulties, we have taken a decision that this year the only form of payment will be by card. So when using our booking system please have your card, or that of a trusted friend, handy.

DG Paul and I look forward to welcoming you to Arundel in February !

Kind regards

David Burstow

Convention Chairman
