There are three different types of gifts you can leave in your Will.

Should you appoint a solicitor to draft or update your Will, they should be able to answer any questions you may have about the type of gift you would like to give.

A residuary legacy

This is a share of the balance of your estate once all other payments have been made.

A pecuniary legacy

This is a fixed amount of money.

A specific legacy

This is a gift of a specific item, such as personal possessions, land, buildings or shares.

Each of these require a specific clause in your will and example of each are below:

Residuary Gifts:

I give (%) of the residue of my real and personal estate which I can dispose of by Will to Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation Registered Charity Number 1158845 for the general purposes of the charity and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or the proper officer for the time being of the Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation 27 Pritchard Drive , Hawkinge, Kent CT18 7QH shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.

Pecuniary Gifts:

I give the sum of (£) pounds to Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation Registered Charity Number 1158845 for the general purposes of the charity and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or the proper officer for the time being of the Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation 27 Pritchard Drive , Hawkinge, Kent CT18 7QH shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.

Specific Gifts:

I give (please insert a clear description of the items to be bequeathed)

to the Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation 27 Pritchard Drive , Hawkinge, Kent CT18 7QH with the right to realise such assets and apply the proceeds for the general purposes of the charity and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the Lions Clubs International District 105SE Foundation shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.
