Billingshurst and District Lions Club

What do we do? We raise money to help local, national and international good causes.

We aim to spend most of the money locally within Billingshurst and the surrounding villages.

How do we raise the money? The Lions bookshop is the source of most of the funds we raise. The shop is staffed totally by unpaid volunteers. We sell books and jigsaws and we rely on donations of items to sell.

We also run an annual Golf Day which often raises about £4,000. This is usually organised to support a specific cause in the area – for example Sussex Young Carers.

Our other major effort is Santa’s annual tour of the district playing Christmas music and making sure he knows where to deliver the presents.
